What is it like as a Financial & Accounting Manager at Univision?
The Accounting/Finance Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial health and accounting operations within an information industry company. This position is responsible for managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards to support strategic decision-making. The manager will lead a team of accounting professionals, fostering accuracy, efficiency, and integrity in all financial processes. They will collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to provide financial insights that drive business growth and operational excellence. Ultimately, this role ensures that the organization's financial practices align with its goals and regulatory requirements, contributing to sustainable success.
NOTE: We are currently looking for applicants who can work in an in office environment in the Missoula, Kalispell, Helena, and Liberty Lake area.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models to support business planning and strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate and lead internal and external audits, ensuring timely and accurate completion of audit requirements.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff to enhance team performance and professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and tax filings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business decision-making.
- Implement and improve financial controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks and enhance operational efficiency.
Qualifications, Certifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience preparing financial statements and managing budgets.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation.
- Experience working within the information technology or information services industry.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
- Advanced skills in financial modeling and data analysis.
- Experience leading audits and working with external auditors.
