The Certified Respiratory Care Therapist is responsible for services, as defined in role specific competencies, rendered by the Respiratory Care Department to be done safely and effectively under the direction of the Respiratory Care Director.

Personal technology device to download DUO application to enable access to hospital email by multi-factor authentication.

Knowledge and administration of emergency care, CPR, EKG’s, intubation, critical care, ventilation, oxygen therapy, respiratory drugs to patients and any other patient therapeutic or diagnostic procedures as it relates to the Respiratory Therapy field.

Skilled in blood gas sticks, analyzing of the blood gas and understanding the results.

Ability to perform postural drainage and percussion (PD&C) as ordered by physician.

Knowledge to assists with tracheostomy care and suctioning as needed.

Skilled in nasal and/or oral suctioning as ordered by a physician.

Ability to induce sputum specimens as needed.

Skilled in administering incentive spirometry treatments.

Appropriate knowledge of all age groups, which include newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatrics as it relates to respiratory.
- Knowledge of proper disposal of infectious and non-infectious trash

Skilled to render safe and effective respiratory care services.
