Position Overview
Our Hygiene Team is looking full-time Dental Assistant who enjoys working with children and adolescents in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. Whether you're an experienced dental assistant or looking to continue growing your skills, we provide a supportive atmosphere with opportunities for advancement.
Previous dental experience is preferred and may qualify for a higher starting salary, but we also provide comprehensive onboarding and training for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and families with kindness and professionalism
- Review medical histories and obtain patient vital signs
- Prepare patients for treatment and preventive care appointments
- Set up instruments, equipment, and treatment materials
- Take diagnostic radiographs, including bitewings and periapicals
- Record existing restorations, caries, pathology, and treatment findings
- Coronal polishing, oral hygiene and post-operative instructions
- Sterilize instruments following OSHA and infection control guidelines
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked operatories
- Follow instructions from doctors and team leaders while contributing positively to the team environment
Qualifications
Preferred candidates must have:
- Dental assisting experience
- Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization procedures
- Understanding of OSHA and infection control standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Computer proficiency
- The ability to build trust and rapport with children and teens
- A caring, patient-centered attitude
Experience or certification in any of the following is a plus:
- Digital Dental Radiography
- Nitrous Oxide Monitoring
- Coronal Polishing
- Dental Sealants
- Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), Certified Dental Assistant (CDA), or Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)
Candidates with advanced certifications or expanded functions may qualify for increased compensation.
