We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Music Director and Organist to enrich our community’s spiritual and cultural life. The ideal candidate will inspire the congregation welcoming the community.
Responsibilities
- Perform on the organ during worship services, special events.
- Collaborate with clergy, staff, and volunteers to plan music programs aligned with liturgical themes and community needs.
- Coordinate scheduling for rehearsals, performances, and special occasions to ensure seamless musical operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members, congregation members, and external partners to promote upcoming events and foster a positive musical environment.
- Oversee maintenance of all musical equipment, including the organ, sound systems, and related instruments, ensuring optimal performance quality.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a professional organist with a strong background in church or community music settings.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with diverse groups within the community effectively.
- Knowledge of liturgical traditions and ability to select appropriate repertoire for various services and events.
- Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, staff, volunteers, and community members to create a cohesive musical program.
- Formal training in music performance or education is preferred; certification or licensure as an organist is advantageous.
Pay: $300.00 - $350.00 per day
