We are looking for a compassionate cook manager to join our team. This role is responsible for the preparation of meals for the regular and special diets as determined by daily/weekly menus for each Resident. Understands and is able to follow guidelines for special diets and special menus for events. Responsible for overseeing other cooks in the kitchen at each meal and directing as needed. Ability to perform all duties, including ordering of food, preparing menus and making sure the kitchen is kept in a sanitary manner to provide the highest quality meals daily.
- Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or senior living setting preferred.
- Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, ordering of food, menu prep and kitchen safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
- Must meet all regulatory health, training, and background requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES – Included but not limited to:
- Prepare meals according to menus, recipes, and resident preferences.
- Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices are followed.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and equipment in good working order.
- Assist with menu planning and special event meals as requested.
- Monitor food inventory and complete monthly inventory on US Foods website
- Support compliance with dietary and regulatory requirements.
- Other duties as assigned, including support for other departments.
- Order food from US Foods and complete menus every week on a four-week rotation.
- Scheduling of staff in the dietary department on a rotating two-week schedule.

Ability to work in environments with low or bright lighting, loud noise, strong odors, variable temperatures (hot or cold), and potential exposure to infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and other health-related risks
Efficiently and effectively manage unpredictable schedules, distractions, changes of pace or priorities, on a regular basis
DRIVER RESPONSIBILITIES/CLEAN MVR REQUIRED:
- Meet general and specific Key Performance Indicators and associated industry or community metrics as leadership assigns and deems defining of success
- Adjust to changing or evolving metrics accordingly
