Our team plays a critical role in protecting workers and maintaining safety standards across active job sites.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Gas Detection Technician to perform field inspections and maintenance of safety equipment throughout the Kern County oilfields. This role involves calibrating gas monitors and conducting routine safety checks to ensure compliance with industry and client safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Calibrate, bump test, and maintain portable and fixed gas detection monitors
- Inspect and document eyewash stations to ensure proper operation and compliance
- Check, stock, and maintain first aid kits on job sites
- Inspect fire extinguishers for proper placement, charge, and serviceability
- Accurately complete inspection reports and field documentation
- Communicate findings and deficiencies to supervisors and clients
- Travel to multiple oilfield locations throughout Kern County
- Follow all company, client, and regulatory safety requirements
Qualifications
- Previous experience in oilfield safety, gas detection, or industrial safety preferred
- Knowledge of gas monitors (H₂S, LEL, O₂, CO) is a plus
- Ability to work independently in field environments
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid California driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday
- Comfortable working around active oilfield operations

Pay: $16.90 - $18.00 per hour
