IXL Learning Center of Birmingham is looking to hire a Lead GSRP Pre-K teacher for our child care center,. All work will be performed in-person in Birminhgam, MI.

Requirements of an IXL Lead Teacher
- Appropriately care for and supervise children at all times
- Maintain a structured, safe and sanitary environment
- Implement the GSRP curriculum (Creative Curriculum) and classroom schedule
- Create lesson plans that align with State of Michigan Standards for Early Childhood, the GSRP Implementation Manual, and Creative Curriculum
- Complete observations and assessments daily in the TS Gold system
- Effectively communicate with parents, children, and coworkers
- Plan and facilitate home visits and family conferences, as well as family nights and data meetings
- Delegate and lead the classroom team
- Follow IXL policies and procedures as well as the policies and procedures of the GSRP Implementation Manual.
- Must work well with others
- Able to lift children of varying ages and equipment of varying sizes
- Educational requirements: Bachelors in Early Childhood Education, Bachelors in Child Development, or Bachelors in Elementary Education with ZA or ZS endorsement. Associates degree with ability to attain a Bachelors in early childhood education or child development with a focus on preschool teaching within three years of being hired. We will support an application to T.E.A.C.H. to help offset the higher education costs.
Required Work Schedule of an IXL GSRP Lead Teacher
- 9am-4pm Monday through Thursday during the days/weeks of GSRP operations.
- Planning time is required outside of these hours, typically occurring on Fridays. Details and weekly amounts vary by county.
- Required Friday or after GSRP hours training and professional development, as indicated on the GSRP calendar.
- Required additional hours for home visits or family conferences that may occur outside of GSRP hours.
Rate of pay is based on level of education and experience in the field.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.40 - $20.70 per hour
