Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to strict sanitation protocols
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely meal service
- Follow food safety management practices to prevent contamination and ensure proper food handling
- Support menu planning efforts by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation methods
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or culinary environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong understanding of food safety standards in production and handling practices
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen team members
- Ability to perform food preparation tasks with precision and attention to detail
- Experience operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with recipe adherence, meal preparation, and catering processes is advantageous
