Job Title: Substitute Teacher – Bachelor’s Degree or Higher (Non-Certified)
Location: 115 Stewarts Ferry Pike, Nashville, TN 37214
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CST
Key Responsibilities
- Report to the educational office each morning upon arrival and each afternoon after dismissal.
- Follow teacher lesson plans and assume the responsibilities of the classroom teacher or educational assistant.
- Maintain normal classroom routines and educational activities.
- Supervise students at all times.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment.
- Assist with lunchroom duty, bus duty, hall duty, and other responsibilities assigned by school administrators.
- Familiarize yourself with school emergency procedures.
- Review and understand student medical needs as outlined in classroom substitute materials.
- Report significant discipline or behavioral issues to building-level administrators immediately.
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student information.
- Follow all school policies, procedures, and administrative instructions.
- Work cooperatively with teachers, administrators, educational assistants, and other staff.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Two years of college or a Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher – non-certified candidates accepted.
- Teaching certification is not required for this position.
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience working with children.
- Experience working with children with special needs is strongly preferred.
- Experience in educational, childcare, classroom, or student-support environments is beneficial.
