Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver and take the wheel of Amazon Relay blocks! In this vital role, you'll operate a variety of commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers,to deliver freight safely and efficiently across multiple locations. Your expertise will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards. This position offers an energetic work environment where your driving skills and commitment to excellence will make a real impact every day.
Current pay is $800 per Amazon (Solo 2) 37-hour block. Compensation is dynamic and may increase in line with Amazon rate adjustments. Drivers may choose two or three blocks per week based on availability.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers with Automatic transmissions, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Navigate routes using GPS systems to optimize delivery schedules and ensure timely arrivals at multiple destinations.
- Load and unload freight, following all safety protocols.
- Handle logistics cargo management, including securing loads on flatbeds or roll-off trucks, and performing manual handling tasks to ensure cargo integrity.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues before hitting the road.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams to coordinate route driving, delivery schedules, and any unforeseen delays or issues.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers must.
- Proven delivery driving experience with knowledge of route driving across OTR routes.
- Strong understanding of FMCSA and DOT regulations governing commercial truck driving and transportation safety standards.
- Excellent navigation skills using GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning.
- Must be willing to work varied start times and shifts.
- Strong punctuality, consistent attendance, and ability to commit to Amazon blocks in advance.
