Domestic Violence Family Centered Servcies, Counselor, Bilingual (Spanish Speaking– Full Time, 10am-6pm, Monday – Friday, On-Call Required
The Center for Prevention of Abuse (CFPA) is seeking a passionate individual to join our team as a full-time Bilingual, Spanish Speaking, Domestic Violence Family Family Centered Services, Counselor. Our mission at CFPA is to help all people live free from violence and abuse, and our Bilingual Domestic Violence Family Counselor is essential in bringing that mission to life.
The Bilingual Domestic Violence Family Counselor provides advocacy services for Spanish and English speaking families in the shelter, including accessing community resources, providing domestic violence education, active listening and referrals for therapy, legal services, housing and jobs. The Bilingual Domestic Violence Family Counselor also provides advocacy services for Spanish and English speaking outreach clients. All services are client-centered and trauma based.
The Bilingual Domestic Violence Family Counselor must maintain confidential, accurate and timely documentation in accordance with ICADV/DHS standards and CFPA policy and procedure manual, facilitate support groups, and assist callers on crisis calls, domestic violence calls and hotline calls as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree in education, social work, counseling or a related human service field is preferred.
Must be passionate about CFPA’s mission, work well independently and as a team, demonstrate non-abusive behavior in both public and professional life, and have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
