American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Postpartum/Mother Baby position in Washington, DC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of hospital experience and an active DC RN license.

Hospital-based postpartum/mother baby unit setting

Patient population includes postpartum vaginal delivery, C-section, and GYN surgery patients
-
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)

13-week contract

Active RN license in Washington, DC (no pending licenses accepted)

Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NRP

CPI certification required

Minimum 2 years of experience in a US hospital postpartum/mother baby setting required

Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required

BSN highly desired
-
US Social Security Number required

Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the previous 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer

Date of birth required for consideration

Postpartum/mother baby experience is required — this is not an L&D position

Provides safe, competent, patient-centered nursing care in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy

Fulfills patient, family, and community needs by performing patient care functions within the scope of current licensure and certification

Demonstrates service excellence standards at all times

Candidates must reside more than 25 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler
