We're growing our telecommunications operations team and seeking motivated individuals to join us as Fiber Optic Splicers. This role plays a critical part in constructing, maintaining, and restoring fiber optic communication networks that keep businesses, communities, and critical services connected.
What You'll Do
As a Fiber Optic Splicer, you'll be responsible for the splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of fiber optic networks in a variety of environments.
Responsibilities may include:
- Performing fusion splicing and termination of fiber optic cable
- Testing fiber networks using OTDRs, power meters, and related equipment
- Reading and interpreting splice schematics, network diagrams, and construction prints
- Troubleshooting network issues and supporting service restoration efforts
- Preparing and maintaining accurate splice records and project documentation
- Identifying and resolving signal loss, fiber damage, and connectivity issues
- Assisting with fiber cable placement, restoration, and network construction activities
- Maintaining company tools, vehicles, and testing equipment
- Following all company safety policies and industry quality standards
- Communicating effectively with project managers, technicians, and customers as needed
This position offers a variety of projects and environments, allowing employees to gain experience across multiple fiber network types and telecommunications systems.
Travel Opportunities
This position supports projects throughout multiple states and requires the ability and willingness to travel as business needs dictate.
Current travel assignments generally operate on a 7-days-on / 7-days-off schedule, allowing employees dedicated time at home between project rotations.

Qualifications
- Valid U.S. driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to distinguish colors and interpret technical information
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 70 pounds
- Basic computer, tablet, and smartphone proficiency
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and rotating shifts when traveling
- Ability to successfully complete a background check and drug screening
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following is helpful but not required:
- Fiber optic splicing
- Telecommunications
- Utility construction
- Electrical trades
- Cable installation
- Network testing and troubleshooting
- Underground or aerial infrastructure
- Construction and field service work
- Military telecommunications experience

Wage:$20–$25/hour DOE. Experienced splicers may qualify for higher compensation based on demonstrated skills and certifications.
