Description:
W-2 Position | Flexible Daytime Schedule | Private Practice | North Shore Chicago
Are you a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner looking for greater control over your schedule—without giving up the stability, benefits, referrals, and support of a larger organization?
At Inspire Counseling Center, we believe clinicians do their best work when they're well supported. We combine the resources and infrastructure of a large group practice with the warmth, flexibility, and personal feel of a boutique private practice.
We're looking for an experienced, compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatrist to join our growing team.
We are looking for a provider who can work a minimum of a minimum of 24 hours per week, primarily during daytime hours.
-
Monday–Thursday daytime availability, ideally between 9:00am–3:00pm or similar hours
-
Hybrid flexibility: Enjoy the option to provide telehealth from home for a portion of your schedule, with a commitment to working in person at our Evanston office at least 2–3 days per week
-
Downtown Evanston location, conveniently located near the Davis CTA Purple Line and Davis Street/Evanston Metra (UP-N) stations
-
Build a consistent schedule that works for your life
-
No evenings, weekends, or holidays required
-
Fridays and weekend hours are available if desired
-
Beautiful, dedicated office space for your in-person days
We value work-life balance and want to create a schedule that feels both flexible and sustainable, while maintaining the in-person connection and collaborative environment that are important parts of the Inspire experience.
We don't believe medication management should feel like an assembly line.
Initial psychiatric evaluations are scheduled for 60 minutes, and follow-up appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes, giving you time to talk with your patients, provide thoughtful care, collaborate when needed, and complete documentation.
Inspire serves a diverse outpatient population, including children, adolescents, college students, young adults, and adults.
Our philosophy is highly collaborative. We view psychiatric medication as an important tool that, when appropriate, can work alongside therapy to help patients make meaningful progress.
One of the greatest advantages of joining Inspire is having an entire psychotherapy team available for collaboration and consultation. Many of our medication-management patients are also working with therapists at Inspire, allowing for continuity and coordination of care when clinically appropriate and authorized.
For shared Inspire clients, you can also benefit from information already gathered through their therapy intake and clinical record, while completing your own psychiatric evaluation and assessment.
You didn't become a psychiatric provider because you wanted to spend your day dealing with insurance companies, scheduling problems, marketing, or billing.
Our experienced administrative team handles:
-
New patient inquiries and intake calls
-
Scheduling and rescheduling
-
New-client paperwork
-
Insurance verification
-
Credentialing
-
Billing and claims submission
-
Denials and payment processing
-
Office management
-
Marketing and community outreach
-
Client referrals
You get to focus on what you do best: taking care of your patients.
We are particularly interested in experienced PMHNP candidates with Illinois Full Practice Authority (FPA).
Inspire has established relationships with psychiatrists who provide consultation and/or collaboration for Inspire's PMHNPs.
At Inspire, our philosophy is simple: We take good care of our employees so they can take great care of their clients.
We've worked hard to build a practice that offers the professional infrastructure and stability of a larger organization without losing the connection, flexibility, and humanity of a smaller practice.

Team meetings, celebrations, outings, recognition—and plenty of fun along the way
Clinical knowledge and experience are important. But we've learned that credentials alone don't create an extraordinary clinician or an extraordinary workplace.
We hire good humans.
We're looking for someone who is kind, humble, emotionally intelligent, collaborative, open-minded, affirming, and willing to take ownership of their work.
We want people who care about their patients and their teammates. Our culture is warm, down-to-earth, supportive, and genuinely connected. We laugh together. We celebrate together and we show up for each other on the hard days.
And we understand that you have a life outside of work.
We value work-life balance so you can enjoy time with family, friends, personal time, flexibility, professional growth, and healthy boundaries. We want you to have a career you love without sacrificing the rest of your life to have it.
Inspire Counseling Center is a growing private mental health practice serving Chicago's North Shore, with beautiful offices in Northbrook, Evanston, Kenilworth, and Lake Forest.
If you're looking for a place where you can provide thoughtful psychiatric care, have meaningful autonomy, work alongside a strong clinical team, and actually enjoy the people you work with, we'd love to meet you.
Life is short. Work should be meaningful—and it can be fun, too.
Come be part of a team that's helping people live healthier, happier lives.
