Where Precision Meets Passion
Mayfly Outdoors is the steward of some of the most iconic brands in fly fishing, including Ross Reels, Abel Reels, Airflo, Airlite, Renzetti, Dyna-King. We are trusted by anglers around the world for craftsmanship that honors the water. We are currently hiring for a Production Specialist who shares that same standard of excellence to help keep our production floor running with the precision our anglers expect.
The Role
As our Production Specialist, you'll support daily production workflow across Mayfly Outdoors' U.S. facilities. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you'll serve as the main liaison between the production and sales teams, keep work orders moving on schedule, and be cross-trained across all areas of production — including handwork, anodizing, and assembly. What You'll Do
- Planning & Scheduling: Coordinate work across departments and provide daily work schedules at the start of each shift so production needs and timelines are clear
- Quality Control: Maintain quality standards throughout the production process, conduct inspections, address issues promptly, and partner with the QA Tech on standards for each Mayfly product
- Staff Leadership: Help lead production teams in the Production Manager's absence, train staff, resolve operational issues hands-on, and partner on performance feedback
- Process Improvement: Provide production data to management and drive continuous improvement initiatives to make processes better
- Inventory Management: Oversee supplies, partner with the Production Manager and Purchaser on timely procurement, and conduct regular inventory counts with accurate ERP data entry
- Reporting & Analysis: Document and generate production reports and analyze KPIs with the Production Manager
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety procedures, provide monthly safety tips to the team, and document training for OSHA and company standards
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Purchasing to keep production flowing smoothly
- Coverage & Backfill: Provide coverage for the Production Manager and production team members as needed, flexibly filling different roles across the operation
- Other duties as assigned
