Cedar Lake is seeking an experienced and compassionate leader to join our residential services team as the Assistant Director of Residential Supports. In this position, you will help guide the daily operations of assigned homes while supporting employees in delivering safe, consistent, and person-centered services. What you'll do:
The Assistant Director of Residential Supports works closely with residential leadership to oversee assigned Residential Level 1 homes. This role combines operational management, employee leadership, regulatory compliance, and active involvement in service delivery.
The successful candidate will collaborate with supported individuals, families and guardians, waiver teams, employees, and internal and external partners to promote positive outcomes and uphold Cedar Lake’s standards of care. Direct support may also be required when necessary to maintain continuity and ensure individual needs are met.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations of assigned Residential Level 1 homes, including purchasing, routine financial oversight, property maintenance, housekeeping, transportation, and individual schedules.

Partner with the Director of Residential Supports and Executive Director on annual budgeting, transition planning, and other operational priorities.

Maintain services, documentation, and residential operations in accordance with applicable state regulations and Cedar Lake Residences policies and procedures.

Represent Cedar Lake and its objectives when interacting with public, private, state, and local agencies, as designated by the Director of Residential Supports.

Work collaboratively with individuals, families, guardians, and waiver teams regarding program services, status updates, and benefit coordination.

Participate in risk management and incident follow-up activities to promote individual safety and reduce the likelihood of future incidents.

Advocate for the rights of supported individuals and provide employees with guidance on respecting and protecting those rights.

Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve concerns while maintaining a person-centered approach to planning and decision-making.

Apply best practices that support each individual in achieving or maintaining their highest practical level of physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

Promote meaningful community involvement, social inclusion, and opportunities for individuals to build greater independence.

Provide leadership and direction related to social judgment, health, personal safety, and other areas affecting individual well-being.

Ensure Direct Support Professionals provide appropriate coaching or assistance with daily living skills, personal hygiene, and personal financial responsibilities.

Support medication administration processes and monitor compliance with applicable requirements.

Partner with recruitment staff and participate in candidate interviews, employee evaluations, professional development, and other workforce-related activities.

Provide both direct and indirect supervision to assigned employees, offering clear expectations, guidance, and ongoing support.

Communicate professionally and respectfully with supported individuals, families, visitors, colleagues, and other personnel.

Participate in the Cedar Lake Residences on-call rotation and assist with resolving staffing coverage concerns when needed.

Complete additional responsibilities as assigned.
What sets you apart:

Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Previous supervisory experience is required.

Three to five years of relevant professional experience is preferred.

Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities is preferred.

A valid Kentucky driver’s license is required.
What your typical schedule looks like:

Full-time, exempt salaried position, 40 hours per week

Schedule is generally Monday through Friday

Some evening and weekend availability may be required based on operational needs

Must remain available by phone during scheduled working hours
