Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Audio Visual Design Engineer to create cutting-edge audio, video, lighting, and control system designs that meet client needs and industry standards. The Design Engineer will play a pivotal role in creating technical documentation, collaborating with the sales and installation teams, and ensuring designs are implemented correctly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Design & Documentation:
- Design AV systems (audio, video, lighting, and control systems) based on MediaVine Pro Audio Video and industry standards.
- Produce detailed design documents including line drawings, rack layouts, and narrative descriptions to assist in system pricing and labor estimates.
- Prepare comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOM) and preliminary labor/travel cost estimates.
- Collaboration with Sales and Installation Teams:
- Work closely with the sales team to clarify client requirements and refine design proposals.
- Coordinate with installation teams to ensure designs are accurately implemented and meet project specifications.
- Provide technical guidance during installation, and troubleshooting issues as needed.
- Ability to meet necessary deadlines. The operations team requires documentation packages on time to procure equipment and stay on schedule.
- Client Interaction & Support:
- Maintain open communication with clients to ensure satisfaction and meet technical needs.
- Deliver high-level customer service by addressing client concerns and providing clear, accurate information throughout the project lifecycle.
- Installation and Project Support:
- Collaborate with installation teams to ensure that AV system designs align with building codes and requirements.
- Offer ongoing support and troubleshooting as systems are installed and tested.
- AV Construction Drawings Review
- Ability to read AV construction drawings, review for accuracy, and redline/comment as necessary to assist in validating that the drawings are 100% correct before implementation.
Qualifications:
- Experience in AV systems design and integration (audio, video, lighting, and control).
- Proficiency with design tools such as D-Tools, Visio, and AutoCAD. Vectorworks is a bonus.
- Familiarity with Google Suite preferred or Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, architectural plans, and system requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a customer-centric approach.
- Ability to prepare a Bill of Materials and labor/travel cost estimates.
- Strong time management and self-management skills.
- AV installation experience preferred.
- Prior experience with construction management or similar AV system integration roles.
Certifications:
- AVIXA CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I
- DANTE, QSC/QSYS certifications preferred.
- CQD and CQT are not required but valued

Compensation:
- Pay: $65,000 - $100,000 per year (depending on experience).
