Duties
- Efficiently wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed to support the culinary team.
- Maintain cleanliness of dishwashing stations, sinks, and surrounding areas to meet sanitation standards.
- Properly handle and transport heavy loads of dishes and kitchenware using manual handling techniques to prevent injury.
- Support bussing duties by clearing tables and assisting with general restaurant cleanup during service hours.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, sinks, and other related appliances safely and effectively.
- Follow all kitchen health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
Skills
- Strong understanding of food safety management and sanitation practices in a busy kitchen setting.
- Experience with food handling, food preparation, and restaurant operations is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of knife skills and basic food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining proper manual handling techniques.
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as commercial dishwashers and cleaning tools.
- Previous catering or banquet experience is a plus, demonstrating ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting overall restaurant operations.
