JOB VACANCY: Supervisor for Special Education and Title IX Coordinator

POSITION OVERVIEW
Morehouse Parish School Board is seeking a knowledgeable, collaborative, and student-focused leader to serve as Supervisor for Special Education. This position provides leadership, coordination, and oversight of special education programs and services across the district, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while promoting equitable outcomes for all students with disabilities. The Supervisor will work closely with school leaders, educators, families, and community partners to strengthen instructional practices, support staff development, and improve student achievement.

Salary: Teacher Salary Schedule + Supervisor Index (.32)
Reports To: Superintendent

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid Louisiana certification in educational leadership (or eligibility as defined by BESE/Louisiana Department of Education)
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful educational leadership experience (school or district level preferred)
- Demonstrated experience supporting employee growth and instructional improvement
- Strong knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies and best practices
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse students, staff, families, and stakeholders
PREFERRED: Experience working in a Title I school setting; Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and special education compliance requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership and oversight for all district special education programs and services
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations (e.g., IDEA, Section 504, BESE policies)
- Support principals and school teams in implementing high-quality instruction and interventions for students with disabilities
- Lead professional development and coaching to strengthen instructional practices and service delivery
- Monitor student data and program effectiveness to improve outcomes and ensure accountability
- Collaborate with general education, student services, and community agencies to ensure coordinated supports
- Assist with the development, management, and monitoring of the special education budget and resources
- Oversee staffing, supervision, and evaluation of Special Education & Psychological Assessment and Intervention Services
(PAIS) Personnel
- Manage dispute resolution processes, including parent concerns, mediation, and due process in accordance with regulations
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises special education staff, related service providers, and support personnel as assigned by the Superintendent.
