We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Georgia-licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to support our Whole Health & Wellness Program in Americus, Georgia.
Because this position requires regular on-site services and occasional community-based support, local candidates in Americus and the surrounding area, preferably within approximately 50 miles, are strongly encouraged to apply.
Position Overview
The Whole Health & Wellness RN works collaboratively with Perry Wellness Center's Certified Peer Specialist/Whole Health & Wellness staff to support individuals in identifying, understanding, and working toward their personal health and wellness goals.
This is a behavioral health and wellness support position focused on education, coordination, monitoring, and helping individuals become more active participants in their overall health and wellness.
The RN works as part of a recovery-oriented team and should be comfortable working collaboratively with Certified Peer Specialists, behavioral health staff, physicians, pharmacies, caregivers, and other community providers.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support the CPS Whole Health (WHAM) Coach in implementation of the Whole Health & Wellness Program.
- Provide individual health and wellness sessions with individuals participating in the Whole Health & Wellness Program.
- Provide sessions monthly or more frequently when prescribed or indicated.
- Provide health and wellness education and support based upon individual needs.
- Communicate relevant health and wellness information to the CPS-WHAM Coach as appropriate.
- Attend weekly Treatment Team meetings.
- Conduct home visits when needed.
- Contact individuals as appropriate when they are absent from scheduled services.
- Coordinate with physicians, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers regarding an individual's health and wellness when appropriate and authorized.
- Complete required documentation accurately and within Perry Wellness Center's established documentation timelines.
- Maintain accurate and confidential health information and documentation.
- Follow HIPAA, Perry Wellness Center policies, and applicable DBHDD requirements.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team while respecting the recovery-oriented and peer-led nature of services.
- Perform other Whole Health & Wellness-related duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia.
- Graduate of a Georgia Board of Nursing-approved nursing education program or otherwise meets Georgia Board of Nursing requirements for RN licensure.
- Ability to work at least 15-20 for part time position hours per week on-site at Perry Wellness Center in Americus, Georgia.
- Ability to maintain all professional licensure requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to complete accurate and timely electronic documentation.
- Comfortable using computers and electronic health record systems.
- Ability to maintain HIPAA confidentiality and appropriately safeguard protected health information.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Certified Peer Specialists, behavioral health professionals, caregivers, physicians, pharmacies, and community providers.
- Dependable, organized, and able to manage responsibilities independently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Behavioral health or mental health experience.
- Community health experience.
- Whole health, wellness, chronic disease management, or health education experience.
- Experience working with individuals receiving behavioral health services.
- Experience working in a recovery-oriented or person-centered environment.
- Experience with electronic health records.
- Experience coordinating care with physicians, pharmacies, caregivers, and community providers.
- Familiarity with DBHDD-funded behavioral health services is a plus.

Location & Availability
This position requires a minimum of 15 hours per week on-site at Perry Wellness Center in Americus, Georgia, with occasional local home visits or community-based responsibilities as needed.
Because of the on-site and community-based nature of the position, candidates who live in Americus or within approximately 50 miles of Americus are strongly preferred.
