Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Trailer Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of trailers to ensure optimal performance and safety. Your expertise will keep our fleet operational, minimizing downtime and maximizing efficiency.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive inspections of trailers, including brake systems, suspensions, axles, and electrical components.
- Conduct repairs on all aspects on trailer from bumper to bumper, including electrical, structural, mechanical as well as replacing trailer decks (wood / steel)
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications as needed to meet specific operational requirements.
- Operate heavy equipment such as Telehandlers, forklifts and a tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during maintenance procedures.
- Troubleshoot automotive diagnostics issues related to diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, and alignments to identify root causes quickly.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in Trailer/Automotive
- Dealership experience or similar automotive repair background preferred.
- Familiarity with electrical wiring, hydraulic systems, and mechanical assemblies is essential.
- Knowledge of farm machinery, industrial equipment, trailer assembly/disassembly, and service technician practices is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various environments.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients alike.
