Duties
- Review project scopes, blueprints, photographs, and damage reports to develop comprehensive restoration estimates.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed cost proposals that include labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor quotes.
- Conduct on-site inspections to assess damage severity, gather measurements, and verify scope of work for accurate pricing.
- Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and insurance adjusters to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
- Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to ensure estimates align with project timelines, budgets, and contractual obligations.
- Maintain precise records of all estimates, revisions, and correspondence related to each project for transparency and accountability.
- Assist in cost control efforts throughout the project lifecycle by monitoring expenses and adjusting estimates as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on restoration or similar fields.
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles, contracts, and project management processes.
- Proficiency with Bluebeam for document markup and collaboration; experience with HeavyBid or similar estimating software is highly preferred.
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure optimal pricing while maintaining quality standards.
- Hands-on construction site experience to accurately assess damage and scope of work.
- Familiarity with cost control strategies to manage budgets effectively throughout projects.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and damage reports clearly and precisely.
