What You’ll Do as a Sawline Quality Operator
You’ll play a key role in protecting product quality by ensuring only acceptable material continues through production. Your day may include:
- Inspecting lumber for defects such as knots, splits, wane, checks, warp, and other quality issues
- Marking defects clearly and consistently according to company standards
- Separating defective lumber from acceptable material to maintain high-quality production flow
- Removing scrap material from production areas in a timely and organized manner
- Feeding scrap lumber into the chipper safely and efficiently
- Sorting scrap, salvage, and reusable material when applicable
- Working on production line with team to ensure good quality product and support smooth workflow.
- Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment (certification provided if needed)
- Monitoring scrap levels and communicating concerns or trends to supervisors
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Following all safety procedures and promoting a strong safety-first mindset
- Representing Elipticon with professionalism, proper attire, and a positive attitude

Who We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- No experience required, paid training provided
- Forklift certification a plus (or train on the job!)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Basic math and measuring skills, including tape measure proficiency
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stay active throughout the day
- Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and desire to learn
Work Environment & Physical Demands:

- Regularly exposed to a manufacturing environment and occasional outdoor weather conditions.
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Requires standing, walking, reaching, and handling materials for extended periods.
- Moderate noise level with standard safety protocols in place.
