At Bontrager Pools, we pride ourselves on providing top-tier service, equipment installation, and maintenance to keep our customers' pools and spas running perfectly. We are seeking a skilled, honest, and self-motivated Pool & Spa Service Technician to join our growing team.
Position Purpose
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and installing pool and spa equipment across assigned customer locations. You will work closely with our Service Manager to ensure high-quality service, first-time fix rates, and exceptional customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Installation & Repair: Perform professional installation, diagnostics, and repairs on pool and spa systems, including pumps, motors, filter systems, salt cells, heaters, lighting, and automation systems.
- In-House & Field Maintenance: Complete field service calls and in-house repairs for customer equipment; provide cross-departmental support for spa service, installation, or pool route maintenance as needed.
- First-Time Resolution: Partner with the Service Manager to resolve customer issues accurately on the first visit, tracking all assigned work through to full completion.
- Customer Relations & Sales: Deliver courteous and professional customer service; identify equipment upgrade opportunities to improve customer pool/spa experiences and support ancillary sales.
- Vehicle & Inventory Management: Maintain and clean company vehicles, conduct weekly visual inventory checks, restock truck inventory per company policy, and maintain accurate billing/inventory paperwork.
- Compliance & Policy: Follow and execute all company operational policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Technical Skills: Strong background in plumbing, electrical/electronics, and mechanical systems.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in skilled trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or related fields) required; deep knowledge of pool and spa equipment preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- License: Valid driver’s license and able to operate company vehicles.
- Key Attributes: Excellent communication, high attention to detail, strong problem-solving abilities, reliability, and the ability to work independently with integrity.
- Physical Demands: Ability to perform heavy manual labor, including regularly lifting up to 100 lbs in outdoor working environments.
Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
