Job Description:
We’re a busy, casual Italian and pizza restaurant seeking a Back-of-House Takeout & Delivery Coordinator whose primary responsibility is handling high-volume phone orders during peak hours. This role is based in the kitchen and will be the first point of contact for customers calling the restaurant. It plays a key part in ensuring accurate, efficient takeout and delivery service. The ideal candidate is confident on the phone, detail-oriented, and able to stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer a high volume of incoming calls and take customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Enter orders into the POS system with attention to detail (modifications, timing, addresses)
- Communicate clearly with kitchen staff to ensure orders are prepared correctly and on time
- Help organize and pack takeout and delivery orders
- Double-check all items and special requests before orders go out
- Coordinate the pickup area for delivery drivers to ensure smooth handoffs
- Maintain a clean and organized takeout/phone station
- Assist with light kitchen support and side work as needed
Qualifications:
- Strong phone presence and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure during busy rushes
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable and punctual
- Previous restaurant, pizza shop, or phone order experience is a plus
