Duties
- Operate Semi Trucks, 26ft Box Truck, Reefers, Dry Vans, Hotshots with manual transmissions, ensuring safe and compliant driving practices at all times
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, adhering to safety protocols
- Transport refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks across designated routes while maintaining optimal delivery schedules
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with transportation regulations
- Manage route driving efficiently, including planning deliveries for timely arrivals and handling route adjustments as needed
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, freight details, and delivery documentation in accordance with federal and state regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and any route changes or issues
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on commercial transportation and route management
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks and specialized equipment such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks
- Strong understanding of load & unload procedures, including freight handling safety standards
- Ability to operate forklifts safely for loading/unloading cargo when necessary
- Excellent driving skills with a clean safety record and knowledge of DOT regulations
- Familiarity with various types of freight including refrigerated goods, heavy loads on flatbeds, or liquid cargo in tankers
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with dispatchers, clients, and team members
- New owner operators are accepted, must be willing to work and maintain for up to 90 days to build towards unlimited load opportunities
