Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Property Management to lead our property management team and oversee the operations of our affordable housing portfolio. This vital role involves ensuring compliance with housing regulations, and delivering exceptional service to residents. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive approach to property oversight, team leadership, and client communication, helping us fulfill our mission of providing quality affordable housing.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the property management team to ensure efficient daily operations across all properties.
- Oversee lease or rental agreement management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Maintain strong relationships with residents, addressing concerns promptly and professionally to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 guidelines, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), HUD, and other relevant legal requirements.
- Utilize property management OneSite for data entry, reporting, and record keeping.
- Develop and manage budgets for property operations while identifying opportunities for cost savings through upselling or efficiency improvements.
Requirements
- Proven experience in property management, including leasing, tenant relations, and facilities oversight.
- Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 programs, LIHTC compliance, HUD, and related legal frameworks.
- Proficiency with property management software such as OneSite; experience with Microsoft Office suite is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while managing conflict resolution and negotiation strategies.
- Background in real estate administrative functions including contracts, data entry, filing, and client communication.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and conflict management abilities.
- Prior experience working within a property management company or similar organization is highly preferred.
