Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Coordinate the scheduling and dispatching of delivery vans, straight trucks, tractor-trailers, and passenger vehicles to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
- Manage maritime crew communication, vessel maintenance schedules, and ship steering systems operation to support maritime logistics activities.
- Oversee vehicle inspections, maintenance documentation, minor mechanical repairs, and load securement procedures to maintain fleet safety and reliability.
- Optimize routes considering traffic conditions in logistics to improve delivery efficiency and reduce costs.
- Negotiate freight rates with carriers and suppliers while ensuring compliance with Port State Control regulations for maritime operations.
- Supervise warehouse logistics management including inventory control, shipment tracking, and space utilization.
- Lead crew management efforts by coordinating staffing levels amidst driver shortages and ensuring adherence to safety protocols during rescue operations or lifeboat handling scenarios.
- Maintain accurate vehicle maintenance records and ensure all vehicles meet safety standards through regular inspections.
- Communicate effectively using multilingual skills to liaise with international teams and maritime crews about schedules, safety procedures, and operational updates.
Qualifications
- Mandarin speaking perference
- Fluency in English with excellent communication skills; multilingual abilities are a plus.
- Proven experience managing delivery vans, straight trucks, tractor-trailers, or passenger vehicles within a logistics or transportation environment.
- Knowledge of maritime crew communication protocols, vessel maintenance practices, and ship steering systems operation.
- Strong understanding of route optimization techniques and traffic conditions impacting logistics planning.
- Familiarity with Port State Control regulations and warehouse logistics management principles.
- Ability to perform minor mechanical vehicle repairs and maintain detailed vehicle maintenance documentation.
- Experience negotiating freight rates with carriers or suppliers to maximize cost efficiency.
- Skilled in driver shortage management strategies and crew management best practices.
- Capable of conducting thorough vehicle inspections to ensure safety standards are met consistently.
