Job description: Head Teacher Position
Thank you for your interest in our private school located in White Plains, NY. We are seeking a certified 4-year-old Head Teacher to join our team, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am to 2:10 pm. This is an active and enriching program situated on over 40 acres of property. We are interested in a teacher who enjoys creating a nurturing learning environment for young children.
Below are some essential qualities and skills we are seeking in our potential candidates:
- Have experience working with children and/or a certificate in early childhood education, or currently working towards the completion of one.
- Have knowledge of the unique needs and appropriate expectations for young children's abilities.
- A friendly, warm individual who enjoys working with young children.
- Possess a strong work ethic, punctuality, and good attendance.
- Good organizational skills.
- Motivated, enthusiastic, and encouraging towards students.
- Flexibility and creativity.
- Planning, setting up, and clearing away materials and equipment after lessons.
- Take part in staff training.
- Covering student lunch periods and/or recess time.
- Strong knowledge of educational techniques and methods for teaching young children
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work well with parents and professional peers, leadership skills, and supervision skills.
