Personal Care Assistant (PCA) / Independent Living Skills Trainer (ILST)

Butler Rescue Hands Inc. is currently seeking an experienced, compassionate, and dependable Personal Care Assistant (PCA) / Independent Living Skills Trainer (ILST) to provide in-home services to individuals in the Waterbury, CT area.
We are looking for professionals with a strong background in both PCA and ILST services who are passionate about helping individuals maintain their independence and achieve their personal goals.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 3 years of verifiable, hands-on experience providing both PCA and ILST services
- Experience working with individuals receiving Connecticut waiver services preferred
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (required)
- Clean criminal background check
- CPR and First Aid Certification preferred ( as of 1/1/2027, it is mandatory as per DCP)
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Professional, dependable, and compassionate
- Ability to work independently while following individualized service plans
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, grooming, dressing, mobility, and meal preparation
- Provide Independent Living Skills Training (ILST), including budgeting, meal planning, shopping, medication reminders, household organization, community integration, and developing daily living skills
- Transport individuals to appointments, community activities, and errands as needed
- Maintain accurate daily documentation and progress notes
- Observe and report any changes in the individual's condition or needs
- Follow all agency policies, state guidelines, and individualized care plans
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
