Local adoption agency looking for a Full Time Adoption Social Worker. MUST have a bachelors degree in social work or related field with at least 2 years of social work experience. Candidate must have own car and a clear driving record to transport clients. Adoption social work experience preferred, but not required. Please reply with resume.
Specified responsibilities for the Domestic Program Adoptive Parents Case Manager include the following. These duties are subject to change either by adding or subtracting responsibilities:
1. Adoptive Parent Case Manager
- Contact with each assigned adoptive family at least 2 times a month, documented.
- When assigned a new adoptive family, must make contact within the first 3 business days of being assigned.
- Maintain electronic file system from family matching with birth mother through placement.
- Informing assigned families of training and education.
- Keep track of assigned families home study, background clearances and ICPC documents.
- Attending any appropriate meetings with adoptive families and birth parents.
- Hospital / delivery responsibilities.
- Being present at the hospital with a minimum of 2 visits.
- Getting adoptive parents settled in nesting room.
- Assist birth mother case manager with any hospital documents.
- Executing and uploading to electronic filing system, all adoptive parent placement documents in a timely manner.
- Being present for discharge.
- Maintain open communication with hospital staff when baby is in the hospital.
- Communicating with legal team regarding delivery and ICPC.
- Ensure all original documents are turned in at the office in a timely manner.
- Prepare families for disruptions.
- Work with management regarding refunds.
- Cover adoptive parent case manager responsibilities on an as needed basis (i.e. vacation coverage).
2. Birth Mother Intakes (Including but not limited to on-call rotation of an intake schedule.)
- Make sure all intake paperwork is accurately completely and distributed.
- Oversee that the birth mother gets an ultrasound as soon as possible and if eligible for housing, that it is arranged.
- Handling intake review questions as needed.
3. Attend weekly Domestic Team Meetings.
4. Community Outreach
- Organizing or promoting events to increase BAF Agency awareness.
- Assist with marketing material distribution and agency visibility.
- Collaborating with and educating hospitals, doctor’s offices, prisons, etc., in the effort to promote adoption.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $48,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
