Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Downstream Products Plant Supervisor reports directly to the Downstream Plant Manager. The primary
Responsibilities include:

Oversee all phases of processing, packaging, sanitation, and wastewater management within the DSP Plant.

Mechanical and process aptitude regarding the engineering and design of our Downstream Processing facility is an essential aspect of this position.

Ensure employee safety and knowledge of safe manufacturing operations in relation to OSH standards.

Knowledge of ISO9000, HACCP, GMP, and FDA practices.
-
Attention to details and product quality, throughput delivery, and cost control.

Review and critique proposed changes to standards, policies, or processing details.
-
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Experience, Education, and Licensure/Certification Requirements:
-
Five years of supervisory experience in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.

B.S. in Engineering or Chemistry preferred.
Required Skills/Abilities:
-
Ability to work under seasonal workloads and be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the DSP processing facility.
-
Must be familiar with instrumentation, valves, pumps, steam and chilling systems, and motors.
-
Must display basic chemical and mathematical competency.
-
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
-
Knowledge of PLC programming software and process management software is a plus.

Must be willing to work in a manufacturing, multi-shift environment.

Capable of leading and supervising other personnel.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistently meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.

Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.

Ability to perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for extended periods (lifting, walking, working at heights, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, and stooping).

Must be able to work in a fast-paced, loud, and labor-intensive environment in variable temperatures (from outdoor heat to indoor refrigerated coolers).

Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.

Must be able to inspect machines visually.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
