Overview
Join our vibrant team as a Youth Dance Coach and inspire young people through the power of dance, movement, and cultural expression. We are seeking energetic, positive, and experienced instructors with backgrounds in dance styles such as Hip Hop, Folklórico, Cultural Dance, Ballet, Contemporary, and other movement-based disciplines.
This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to mentor children and adolescents, helping them build confidence, creativity, teamwork, discipline, and a lifelong love for dance. Coaches will create engaging and inclusive learning environments that celebrate culture, self-expression, and personal growth.
Responsibilities
- Plan and lead engaging dance classes for youth of various ages and skill levels.
- Teach dance techniques, choreography, performance skills, and creative movement.
- Share cultural traditions and history through dance, including Folklórico and other cultural dance forms when applicable.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment that encourages participation and confidence.
- Adapt lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners and varying experience levels.
- Support students in preparing for performances, showcases, and community events.
- Promote teamwork, leadership, respect, and positive social development through dance.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and program staff.
- Maintain attendance records and lesson plans as needed.
Qualifications
- Experience teaching or coaching youth in dance, movement, recreation, education, or related programs.
- Strong background in one or more dance styles, including Hip Hop, Folklórico, Cultural Dance, Contemporary, Ballet, Jazz, or similar disciplines.
- Passion for working with children and helping young people succeed.
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching practices.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Ability to create engaging and culturally responsive lessons.
- Experience working with diverse communities is highly preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
