Winston Salem Christian School seeks an outstanding Fine Arts teacher to teach in Middle School. Above all, the school seeks an educator who loves working with lower school students and supporting their efforts to develop their God given creativity. A teacher who loves art and music, leading in a Christmas program and a spring program for Middle school.
- Teach a full load of lower school arts, developing both visual and performing arts
- Manage a student load of between 125-135 student with approximately 18-20 students per class period
- Participate in the life of the school by attending athletic, arts, fundraising, and other school events
- Participate on committees and task forces as needed
- Provide various teaching strategies and materials which stimulate student learning.
- Ability to develop an arts program for Middle school
- Provide instruction, oversight and example to assigned aged group students.
- Present material in a well- organized fashion in order to use class time efficiently.
- Develop well defined objectives for his/her pupils.
- Provide opportunities for all students to attain success.
- Be fair, impartial and objective in the treatment of students and always show love and respect.
- Use assertive discipline when needed.
- Sustain student’s attention and respond with activities appropriate to the students' level.
- Make class work interesting and with a sense of humor as demonstrated success in working with children
- Guide students in group relations.
- Organize assignments and reports to be turned in by students.
- Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience using G-Suite and Google Classroom a plus
- Capacity to maximize advantages of educational technology
- Maintain prompt hours. Maintain neat and clean appearance at all times. Work with all staff members in a cooperative manner.
- Attend all staff meetings and keep up to date on development in the field of Christian Education.
- Report all problems about children and room management to the Head of School or Principal
- Work with parents whenever possible, to promote understanding of growth and development of their child.Maintain open communication with parents, students and colleagues.
- May participate and offer summer camp leadership and additional earning in both art and music
