As an Interior Principal – Client Service Leader , you’ll play a key role in growing our interiors practice across the Midwest and East regions while strengthening client relationships and expanding our presence in the corporate workplace and headquarters market.
In this role, you’ll serve as both a trusted client advisor and design leader, driving business growth through strategic client engagement, pursuit leadership, and market development. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful interior environments, foster long-term client partnerships, mentor design talent, and help shape the future of our interiors practice.
What you’ll do
Lead client development efforts and expand strategic relationships across the Midwest and East regions
Identify, develop, and help secure new opportunities with existing clients, owner’s representatives, and industry partners
Partner with business development and operations leaders on account planning, pursuits, proposals, and interviews
Build long-term client relationships that drive repeat and referral business
Represent Jacobs through networking, industry engagement, and thought leadership activities
Serve in a client or design leadership role on interior design projects, as needed
Foster client trust and alignment throughout project execution
Collaborate with interior design, architecture, engineering, and project delivery teams to achieve successful project outcomes
Mentor and develop interior design professionals through client engagement, pursuit participation, and market insights
Support design excellence, practice standards, and strategic design initiatives across the organization
Provide input on staffing and recruitment activities
Promote a collaborative, growth-focused team culture
Here's what you'll need
Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field
15+ years of professional experience in interior design, with a strong focus on corporate workplace environments
Demonstrated success in client development, business development, and relationship management
Experience leading interior design projects and multidisciplinary teams
Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
Proven ability to balance client leadership, project involvement, and business growth initiatives
Ability to build trusted client relationships that lead to repeat business opportunities
Ideally, you’ll also have
NCIDQ certification
LEED AP and/or WELL AP credential
Experience leading pursuits, proposals, and interview presentations
Established network within the corporate workplace and headquarters market
Experience mentoring and developing design professionals
Knowledge of regional market trends and emerging workplace design strategies
Ability to contribute to practice growth, market strategy, and thought leadership initiatives
Posted Salary Range: Minimum
158,500.00
Posted Salary Range: Upper
218,000.00

The base salary range for this position is $158,500.00 to $218,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
