SUMMARY:
The Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing outreach initiatives that strengthen our presence within the community, with a particular focus on financial education, one-on-one financial counseling and relationship building with local businesses and organizations. This role is central to advancing City CU’s cornerstone to promote financial wellness and expand access to our products and services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (not limited to)
Financial Education and Counseling (40%)
· Develop and deliver engaging financial literacy workshops and seminars for individuals, schools, nonprofits and community groups.
· Provide one-on-one financial counseling to individuals, covering topics such as budgeting, credit building, debt management and savings strategies.
· Create or adapt educational materials tailored to various audiences and demographics.
· Track and evaluate the impact of educational initiatives using metrics and feedback.
Business Development (30%)
· Build relationships with local businesses, nonprofits, faith-based organizations and schools to identify partnership opportunities.
· Represent City CU at networking events, community meetings, and business expos.
· Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement strategic plans to increase membership and product adoption through outreach activities.
· Identify new market opportunities and propose targeted initiatives.
Community Outreach and Engagement (30%)
· Serve as a visible ambassador in the community to enhance the organization’s reputation and relevance.
· Coordinate and attend community events, fairs and volunteer opportunities.
· Develop and maintain a calendar of outreach activities and ensure proper documentation and reporting.
· Foster partnerships with key stakeholders and community leaders to support mutual goals.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Communications, Public Relations or a related field; or equivalent experience.
· Five+ years of experience in community outreach, business development or financial counseling.
· Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
· Knowledge of financial products and services; certification in financial counseling is a plus.
· Excellent interpersonal, organizational and time-management skills.
· Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
Working Conditions:
· Must be able to travel within the local community regularly.
· Occasional evenings and weekends required for events.
· Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. for event setup/breakdown.
Standards and Compliance
· Ensure compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Customer Identification Program (CIP) Policies and Procedures to ensure daily compliance with current regulations.
· Conduct oneself in accordance with City CU’s Service Culture Vision and Standards.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
REASONING ABILITY:
Able to analyze and determine graphically and mathematically direction of the credit union through demographics, advertising, and member needs. Demonstrated ability in designing and integrating corporate marketing strategy and brand positioning into areas of general marketing, product, promotions, media, public relations, branding and merchandising. Ability to make decisions that support credit union policy, business plan, guiding principles and brand standards.

Pay: $79,300.00 - $99,100.00 per year
