Kappus Company is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to join our service team. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on a variety of commercial cooking and refrigeration equipment. This is an exciting opportunity to work independently, problem-solve in the field, and deliver outstanding service to our customers.
Essential Functions:
- Disassemble, reassemble, and perform scheduled preventive maintenance, overhauls, and troubleshooting on all types of commercial cooking and refrigeration equipment
- Adjust, align, assemble, calibrate, inspect, lubricate, and test equipment, utilizing both mechanical and electronic troubleshooting skills
- Assist with the installation and removal of countertop beverage equipment for major corporate accounts, ensuring proper electrical, water, drain, airflow, and space requirements
- Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment to perform service and repairs
- Develop solutions that serve the best interests of the customer while maintaining company standards
- Order necessary parts and complete all required paperwork accurately and timely
- Communicate effectively with customers, field supervisors, dispatchers, and fellow employees to ensure seamless service
- Manage vehicle inventory, maintenance, and appearance to meet company requirements
- Complete all work tasks safely and efficiently in accordance with company safety standards
Qualifications:
- Previous experience servicing commercial food equipment or similar machinery preferred
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills
- HVAC certification preferred
- Ability to work independently in the field and manage time effectively
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
