Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Deli Associate to join our team. Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of deli foods, including slicing meats and cheeses, assembling sandwiches, and maintaining product freshness
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently, including cash handling and basic math calculations
- Ensure food safety standards are met through proper sanitation, food handling, and cleanliness procedures
- Assist customers with selections, answer questions about products, and provide exceptional customer service
- Restock shelves, organize displays, and maintain the overall cleanliness of the deli area
- Support food preparation tasks such as bussing tables, cleaning workstations, and maintaining sanitation standards in the kitchen or café setting
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure quick service without compromising quality
Skills
- Experience in food preparation, food service, or retail environments preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell products effectively
- Knowledge of food safety practices and sanitation standards in the food industry
- Ability to handle cash accurately and perform basic math calculations for transactions
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours
- Previous experience in quick service or fast-food restaurants is a plus
- Familiarity with grocery store operations or café environments is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
