As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting delicious coffee drinks, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and delivering outstanding customer service.
Job Description: As a Barista at Alberta Street Coffee, you will play a key role in ensuring that every customer leaves with a smile. Your responsibilities will include preparing and serving a variety of coffee and espresso drinks, handling transactions, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the café. You will work closely with your team to foster a friendly and engaging environment that reflects our commitment to quality and community.

Key Responsibilities:

Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service, ensuring a positive and personalized experience.

Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, teas, and other beverages according to our recipes and standards.

Operate coffee machines and equipment efficiently, maintaining quality and consistency in every drink.

Handle cash and card transactions accurately, providing correct change and processing payments promptly.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the coffee bar, and seating areas.

Replenish inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other supplies as needed.

Assist with baking and food preparation, including pastries and light snacks, as required.

Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional manner.

Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures. (Oregon Food Handlers Card required for this role)

Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth café operations and a friendly, cooperative work environment.
Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a coffee shop or food service environment.

Passion for coffee and a strong interest in learning about different brewing techniques and beverage styles.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage positively with customers and colleagues.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.
