Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Cell Leader – Molding to support a fast-paced manufacturing operation on 1st shift. This is a hands-on production role responsible for keeping molding cells running efficiently, supporting Packers and Machine Operators, monitoring product quality, stocking production materials, and communicating any production or equipment issues to supervisors and technical staff.
The ideal candidate will have previous manufacturing or machine operating experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to keep up with a fast-moving production environment.
Schedule: 1st Shift – 6:45 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday
Pay: Up to $19.50/hour for a strong candidate
Overtime: Additional hours may be required as needed
Responsibilities
- Keep molding workstations stocked with bags, boxes, labels, and other required packaging materials.
- Set up and maintain production equipment including sealers, tape dispensers, grinders, scales, inspection lights, and related equipment.
- Monitor production activity and help ensure Packers and Machine Operators maintain expected output.
- Provide machine coverage during employee breaks as directed.
- Perform visual inspections of molded products for defects including flash, contamination, shorts, color issues, missing components, and other abnormalities.
- Notify Quality, Mold Technicians, or Supervisors of production or quality concerns.
- Complete required in-process production and quality documentation.
- Count, package, label, seal, box, and palletize finished products as needed.
- Move raw materials and finished goods using appropriate material-handling equipment.
- Assist with training new Packers and production employees.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Communicate production issues and updates to supervisors throughout the shift.
Skills & Requirements
- Previous manufacturing, machine operating, molding, plastics, or production experience strongly preferred.
- Previous lead, training, or team-support experience preferred.
- Must be able to speak and communicate effectively in English without a translator.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify product quality issues.
- Ability to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to work independently while also supporting a production team.
- Must be able to regularly lift up to 40 pounds and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Must be able to stand and move between machines for extended periods throughout the shift.
