Duties
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Lead and motivate a diverse team to achieve sales targets and deliver top-tier customer service
- Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to maximize sales potential
- Conduct employee orientation, training, and development to enhance team skills and performance
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve issues promptly, and ensure a positive shopping experience
- Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new staff
- Oversee cash handling, POS transactions, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and store budgeting
Requirements
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team effectively
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
- Proficiency in retail math, pricing strategies, inventory management, and POS systems
- Demonstrated ability in negotiation, customer service excellence, and conflict resolution
- Organizational skills with attention to detail in bookkeeping, payroll, and administrative tasks
- Experience with merchandising, marketing initiatives, and store promotions
- Ability to work flexible hours including shifts; previous experience in grocery or retail stores is advantageous
