Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Supervisor to oversee and enhance our workplace safety programs. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, promoting a culture of safety, and minimizing workplace hazards. This position requires strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of occupational health and safety standards.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations and company standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Provide training and development programs for employees on safety practices, emergency procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor workers' compensation claims and collaborate with management to manage return-to-work programs effectively.
- Stay updated on environmental regulations (EPA) and ensure compliance with occupational health standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related inquiries and concerns within the organization.
- Foster a culture of safety through effective communication, training sessions, and employee engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in a safety supervisory role or similar position within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers' compensation law, EHS practices, and environmental compliance.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid is highly desirable.
- Proficient in report writing, data analysis, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to train diverse groups effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments to promote a safe working environment.
