About the Role
Gracelawn Memorial Park is hiring a Sales Representative / Family Service Counselor to help families with cemetery property, memorialization, burial and cremation options, and future planning needs.
This is a relationship-based sales role for someone who can combine empathy, professionalism, and strong follow-through. You will meet with families, make outbound calls, schedule appointments, build a pipeline, and guide people through important planning decisions with care and respect.
This is not a passive inbound sales position. Success requires consistent outbound prospecting, follow-up, appointment setting, and the ability to build trust over time.
The right candidate is someone who wants a long-term sales career, is comfortable being coached, and can work toward measurable activity and production goals while serving families in a meaningful way.
What You’ll Do
- As a Sales Representative / Family Service Counselor, you will:
- Connect with families through phone calls, follow-up, referrals, scheduled appointments, and community relationships
- Meet with families to discuss cemetery property, memorialization, burial and cremation options, and pre-planning needs
- Assist families with both pre-need planning and at-need cemetery arrangements
- Use Salesforce CRM to manage leads, track activity, document follow-up, and maintain your pipeline
- Build long-term relationships with families, existing property owners, and community members
- Follow up with families who have requested information, received quotes, attended events, or have existing property at the cemetery
- Work toward individual and team sales goals through disciplined activity, strong communication, and professional service
- Participate in ongoing training, coaching, team meetings, and sales development
What Success Looks Like
Successful counselors are proactive, organized, and consistent. This role requires patience, discipline, emotional maturity, and the willingness to prospect daily.
You do not need cemetery or funeral industry experience. However, you do need to be comfortable in a sales environment where activity, appointments, follow-up, and results matter.
This position is best suited for someone who can handle sensitive conversations professionally, build trust with families, and stay consistent with daily sales activity.
We Are Looking for Someone Who Has
Prior sales, customer service, hospitality, insurance, real estate, automotive, financial services, or relationship-based sales experience preferred
Comfort with outbound calling, follow-up, and appointment setting
Strong communication skills in person and over the phone
Professionalism when discussing sensitive topics with families
A self-motivated approach to building and maintaining a pipeline
Strong organization and follow-through
Willingness to learn, be coached, and work toward measurable goals
Weekend availability
Every other Saturday
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred
Compensation
This role includes base hourly compensation plus uncapped commissions and performance-based bonuses. Income is directly tied to activity, appointments, sales performance, and follow-through.
First-year counselors commonly earn between $55,000 and $80,000, with experienced counselors able to exceed six figures. Top performers have earned $155,000+.
Earned commissions are paid without clawbacks.
