Responsibilities
- Use order picker equipment, barcode scanners, RF (radio frequency) scanners, and manual handling tools to accurately select items from inventory based on order specifications.
- Operate warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management systems to track stock levels, update order statuses, and ensure data accuracy.
- Pack products securely using appropriate packaging materials, ensuring protection during transit while adhering to safety protocols.
- Load and unload shipments utilizing heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment while following safety procedures.
- Conduct quality control checks to verify item accuracy, proper packaging, and condition before dispatching orders.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace by stocking shelves, replenishing inventory, and managing stock rotation in warehouse distribution areas.
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe operation of heavy equipment, and manual handling techniques to prevent injuries.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in warehouse operations or distribution centers is preferred but not required; training will be provided for all necessary skills.
- Proficiency with order picking tools such as reach trucks, forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, barcode scanning for logistics, and warehouse management systems.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle materials manually or with equipment for extended periods.
- Basic math skills for counting inventory quantities and verifying shipments accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy during order fulfillment and packing processes.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
