Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Clinical Supervisor – Medical Assistant to join our busy cardiology practice. This role combines hands-on patient care with clinical team leadership. The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Medical Assistant team, creating and managing staff schedules, ensuring efficient clinic workflow, maintaining high clinical standards, and providing exceptional patient care.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent communication and organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of Medical Assistant supervisory experience required.
- Current Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- Previous experience in a cardiology practice is preferred but not required.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, eClinicalWorks preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and patient service skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Supervisor Responsibilities
- Supervise, mentor, and support the Medical Assistant team.
- Develop and maintain Medical Assistant schedules to ensure adequate staffing and clinic coverage.
- Monitor daily workflow and assign responsibilities to maximize efficiency.
- Train, coach, and evaluate Medical Assistant staff, providing ongoing feedback and performance support.
- Ensure compliance with practice policies, OSHA standards, HIPAA regulations, and clinical protocols.
- Serve as a resource for providers and staff by addressing workflow challenges and resolving issues promptly.
- Coordinate with providers and management to improve clinic operations and patient flow.
- Monitor inventory of clinical supplies and coordinate ordering as needed.
- Promote a positive, professional, and collaborative work environment.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations while ensuring a comfortable and professional environment for patients.
- Take and accurately record vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of exam rooms.
- Enter accurate and timely patient information into the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Support providers with clinical procedures as needed.
- Follow infection control and safety protocols.
- Provide outstanding patient service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
