Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate peer support programs, ensuring they align with best practices in behavioral health and recovery.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to peer support specialists, fostering professional growth and skill development.
- Lead crisis management efforts by implementing crisis intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques when needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans that address co-occurring disorders, substance use issues, and mental health conditions.
- Share personal recovery experiences to motivate clients and build trust within culturally diverse communities.
- Maintain client confidentiality while documenting services using electronic health record (EHR) systems accurately and securely.
- Advocate for clients’ needs through peer support advocacy, harm reduction strategies, and motivational interviewing techniques to promote client engagement and empowerment.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of crisis management, crisis intervention, and behavioral health principles.
- Experience working with individuals with substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, and mental health conditions.
- Proficiency in addiction counseling, social work practices, and harm reduction approaches.
- Ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations while demonstrating sensitivity and cultural competence.
- Excellent client communication skills with an emphasis on motivational interviewing and sharing personal recovery experiences.
- Skilled in mentoring peers, maintaining confidentiality, and utilizing EHR systems efficiently.
- Commitment to peer support advocacy, recovery principles, and fostering a supportive environment that encourages hope and resilience.
