Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and inspection of various heavy machinery and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all equipment operates safely and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including tractors, trailers, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose mechanical issues using hand tools and specialized diagnostic equipment.
- Fabricate parts as needed to ensure machinery is operational.
- Align and suspend components to meet manufacturer specifications.
- Conduct electrical repairs and maintenance on heavy machinery.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety standards.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in heavy equipment technology.
Skills
- Proficient in HVAC systems related to heavy machinery.
- Strong knowledge of hand tools and their applications in mechanical repair.
- Experience in fabricating parts for machinery repair is a plus.
- Familiarity with tractor-trailer systems and their maintenance requirements.
- Ability to align components accurately for optimal performance.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and their application in heavy equipment operation.
- Basic electrical skills for troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems in machinery.
- Background in automotive repair is beneficial but not required.
