- Work in a safe manner in accordance with company safety policies, NFPA 70E, and OSHA.
- Supervise the work of Electrical Testing Technicians I – IV in the field to assure safe work practices.
- Properly use and maintain basic tools and equipment as assigned by company.
- Properly use and maintain company vehicles.
- Properly use and maintain all electrical test instruments.
- Perform thermographic infrared inspections.
- Write thorough, complete and accurate test reports.
- Interpret test results and make appropriate recommendations based on test results. Types of testing projects will include:
- Relay testing
- Transformer testing
- MV cable testing
- Low, medium, and high voltage circuit breaker testing
- Substation battery testing
- Infrared testing
- Ground resistance testing
- Relay panel upgrades
- Direct and mentor Electrical Testing Technicians I – III.
- Comply with company administrative and technical processes.
- Provide expert technical assistance as needed on testing projects.
- Provide training assistance to Manager of Training in areas of technical expertise.
- Participate in ongoing development of technical standards and processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Educational Requirements: Electrical Project Engineers and Electrical Engineering Technicians are required to have obtained at least a BSEE from an accredited ABET program. All Electrical Testing Technicians must have at least an Associate’s Degree in an approved Electrical Engineering Technology program or Electrical Testing program. Experience in medium and high voltage equipment, testing, and analysis is a plus for all positions.
