First Presbyterian Church Child Development Center is currently seeking an experienced teacher to nurture infants age 8 weeks to 12 months. Our 5 Star center delivers exceptional, developmentally appropriate activities and experiences to children. We promote children's love of life-long learning by providing exciting learning that sets the strong foundations in all developmental domains. The ideal candidate is a passionate professional dedicated to the early childhood field that brings positive energy and a strong desire to work as a collaborative team member. Teachers in our program engage children in an innovative curriculum and exhibit knowledge of developmentally appropriate standards. We value the parent-teacher partnership and require teachers to have strong verbal and written communication skills. Preferred candidates have at minimum an coursework in early childhood education or related field and experience working in a high quality child care program. Responsibilities:
- Create a safe and supportive learning environment for infants
- Provide age-appropriate activities to promote cognitive, social, and emotional development
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive educational experience
- Maintain open communication with parents/guardians regarding their child's development
- Ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a secure environment for children
Experience:
- Previous experience in group infant care is preferred
- Experience working with diverse groups of children, including those with special needs
Qualifications:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; coursework in Early Childhood Education is preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with young children
