JENNMAR Services is currently seeking someone to maintain constant, detailed and accurate communication flow with all mining personnel during the work shift. This position is important link necessary to ensure a safe work environment for all underground employees. Position reports to: Safety Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Monitor and control all equipment and systems connected to mine monitor system
- Maintain constant watch over all mine monitor systems
- Keep records of all alarms as required both electronically and manually
- Be able to respond to detailed MHSA questions pertaining to the AMS system
- Proficient in implementing Emergency Response Plan if necessary
- Vital communication link between all underground and surface personnel
- Perform weekly examination of all cap lamps
- Maintain check out, check in and charging of hand held gas monitors, mine phones and SCSRs.
- Calibrate and perform basic repair of hand held gas monitors
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Computer literate (proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word)
- Must have excellent communication (verbal- written) skills
- Must be able to think clearly and act calmly during emergency situations
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively complete job duties with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform physical work on a daily basis
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend and stoop down for prolonged periods of time.
Pay: $19.00 per hour
